I am sure it is fine as long as you are only "sucking" not chewing! How long can one go with no substance? Glad to hear you are recovering well. I think your humor gets you through most of it.

Hrm, how limited is your diet? I'm allowed to eat pretzels, as long as I let them soften to the point that I don't have to chew them.

I remember smashing some pretzel bites into almost a powder, just so I could partake in the salty greatness of a garlic bread flavored pretzel bite! Hunger makes you do crazy things.
