This weekend braces represented in VEGAS - big time!!! It was a fabulous weekend with my favorite girlfriends. Lots of fun, sun and some fantastic cocktails!

Wired Face All Ready for Vegas

After a quick stop at the ortho's office today, good news -- I'm all nailed in...wires ready for Vegas take-off!!!!

For the record, the assistant who worked on my mouth said I was not imagining wires mysteriously moving. Apparently, some fancy-dancy wire holder was completely missing. So, hopefully, after sleeping on the side of my face tonight, 3 inches of metal jabbed into my facial tissue won't wake me.

And really, I think the ortho's office is really sick of seeing me.

Not a Blood Test...Only My Finger to the Wire

Tonight I was proud I actually got my ass to aerobics. Let's just say...it's been a while.

The motivation...repeatedly hearing the boyfriend's voice in my head say, "Um...yeah...now that she can chew...she likes to chew...a lot." This is true. So true that...I gotta be honest, the jaw has been aching lately. Not a good sign. As much as I tell myself to take it easy... the snack vending machine calls my name.

Tomorrow...I'm back in the ortho chair for the big wire cutting. I just couldn't handle it any more. After my finger was bleeding today -- from puncturing it, trying to push the wire back -- in total frustration...I made the call.

Why couldn't I have remembered to have them put one of those fancy stoppers on?

I really don't want to have to go back there...but I have a big Vegas trip this weekend...and no amount of margarita is gonna numb this thing. :)

Am I the only one with such wire transport issues? The damn thing goes wherever it wants!

Lovely 4th Weekend

So, Steve, Rose (our adoptive 27-year-old daughter/a bff) and I spent the weekend in Hermosa Beach. And I kid you not...everywhere I went...I was met with the constant reminder of ...BRACES!!! Our waiter at Cantina Real for Friday night Mexican fun...had braces. The walk to fireworks...the couple behind us was analyzing their mouths pre and post braces. WTF?! Why oh why?!?!?

Guess What????........

Nope....not so much.

Braces still on for at least 6 more weeks -- when my next appointment is. But there is good news...rubber bands only at night...that's kinda good news, right? Not at all the 'news' I was hoping for but...ya know...I'll take what I can get.

But thank you to EVERYONE for your positive thoughts. It...sort of worked.

Off to pack for the big beach 4th of July weekend...happy holiday weekend to you all!
