Change Has Not Come

While yesterday was indeed a historic day...

for the Wired Lady...no change has come. The ortho visit resulted in zero news!! Same old..."blah blah...yes, you look great!...blah blah...ok...see you in 3 weeks!"

Lovely.

What I do know -- they were happy to see I actually wore my rubber bands this time. My back teeth did drop (phew!) and I can't have any larger of a wire put in my mouth (I am at the limit -- they don't make 'em any thicker).

What I don't know -- what's next.

I swear, every time I go, she does a little tweak...a little shave of a tooth here and there...and that's it!

"You're close...you're close." -- yeah, whatever that means.

Lisa, the dental assistant offered as optimistic news as it can get...."I promise, you will get your braces off...sometime this year."

Thanks. I'm tempted to get Steelers colors put in.

I had jaw surgery march 17, 2008. I went to college in september. i told my ortho that i hated my braces and did not want them on for school. she obliged and said she didn't want me to wear them if i hated them. i got them off last september. maybe try complaining. oh ya..my teeth still look great

I just wanted to say I really enjoy your blog. I too have braces, at 24 years old. I know, I know, not bad right? Well, the thing is, Im a saxophone player, and was working on my Masters Degree when I started my treatment. Now, I'm working on my Doctorate!! I should have mine off this summer thankfully. Even though it's very uncomfortable at times, this was the best decision I ever made, and I can't wait to see my final results (and I'm sure you can't wait for yours either!!). Feel free to check out my stuff, and keep smiling :)

Hopefully really soon. I'm waiting for my debracing date too. The Ortho. tells me we are on a month to month basis (whatever that means). I want this metal out of my mouth!!!
I feel your pain!

I thought long and hard about sending you this message, but I have been reading your braces blog with anticipation since you got your braces on 4/20/07-As mine were put on 2/27/07...our stories are much the same and I enjoy your humor. I went to the ortho for a regular "adjustment" and found out that I have a DATE 3/23/09. Only 25 months of braces could be worse, but seems like an eternity to me. So that being said I am sending you positive thoughts that in the next 2 months I just know you are going to have your braces OFF too!
