Last night the OU Bobcats gathered. The picnic festivities, (yay for food!), was (of course) my fav. Except for an extreme mind slip -- oh yeah, thought I could tackle a carrot. Not so much, Wired Lady. Hoooold up. So, ok....I stuck to the hummus...and chips and....was just as happy. Silly me, thinking I should be healthy. Ha. :)

The good news is...my next 'official' ortho appointment is on Tuesday and you KNOW I will be pressing the 'time' question. As in...when (realistically) will these puppies be coming off????

A Taste of Home

Yesterday I visited my little home away from home...the ortho's office. I was shocked they could take me right away -- yet another reason why I love them. Cool or pathetic? Most likely the latter.

So, the little surgical hook is back...and so are the bands (insert sarcastic 'hooray'). Everyone in the office seemed (oddly) happy to see me. The Doc went off about how great I looked...and proceeded not to tell me when they would be coming off. However, didn't stop all the dental assistants from asking when my little gems would be removed. Um....I dunno...you tell me...PLEASE!

I need to start planning my BRACES coming OUT party! Hello Ernie's Mexican Restaurant and their private room!

Man Down...

So....no surprise here....after battling with the rubber bands...

Sooooo I got a little frustrated...and....WHOOPS!....the surgical hook (used to loop the band)...popped out.

I'm going to blame it on the poor installation job on the hook...you know..instead of admitting to my own lack of patience, extreme frustration, sheer irritation, etc.

:)

So, I gotta get to the ortho. Perhaps this was my backwards way of hoping for some ortho-lovin'. Being that my check-up isn't even till next week. I can't wait any longer!

JEALOUSY

As the days with braces continue...seemingly endlessly...and so my life...I find myself staring more and more at other people's perfect smiles/teeth/veneers/etc. So. Nice.

Today I took note of Mariam's gorgeous teeth and it turns out...not only did they look beautiful...she's in the process of clear braces!! So, she's got that glossy look going on. Niiiice.

I'm not gonna lie...the jealousy is running rampant.

Braces D-LITE!

Braces have sat in some fun business meetings over the past few days, but it's time to return to the world that is the west coast. I miss sunshine.

My flight leaves tonight and gets in late. Let's hope I don't contract another fun disease on the way home. I am updating my blog in a Tasti-D-Lite...my little home away from home in NYC. You know my passion for yogurt. Ha. So nice to the braces...if only so nice to the waistline.

Bracing Myself for 26

Happy Birthday to the Wired Lady! Yes, I am 26 today and...still in braces.

To make matters worse...thanks to my strep throat HIGH-IMPACT medicine, I can't drink for 10 DAYS!!! Lovely. To say the least. Not a good way to begin the 26th year of my life...I'd say. But...you know...I'm making it work.

Wired Lady - Not Quite 'Biting' the Big Apple

If this wasn't my life...I would totally be taking a BITE out of the Big Apple right now. Instead, because I am the Wired Lady, and because this is so my life...I am in my hotel room, sick, with strep throat.

Oh yes, I was bad about blog updates because I was busy at work, preparing for my big-grown-up-girl business trip to NYC. Instead, I was busy getting myself sick and highly contagious. One word -- super.

Dental Neglect

So, this evening, as I plan my week ahead I asked myself, "When is my next ortho appointment?"

To my surprise...not till July 2nd! WTF?! I gotta say, definitely feeling intense
ortho-neglect. Totally need some dental lovin'. While I am not the youngest child, I imagine this is what it feels like....lookin' for some serious attention.

That AND...let's get this show on the road.

Meet the Floss-aholic

Today at work I met a flossaholic. I recently moved to a new office, so there are many new dental-characters to meet. This particular dental-lover divulged having to literally leave the building at one time to driving to the closest grocery store to find dental floss. With a mouth full of metal, I guess people know I'll sympathize. And, (sadly) I totally did! When you've got a little 'goodie' stuck in the chompers...one tends to lose all control.

Ya know? You gotta do what you gotta do.

Board Meet Braces

My life....so bizarre.

So, tonight I was interviewed to be a potential board member for this group I belong to. All I'm going to say is, I can't even imagine what they thought of me?! The total Hollywood wannabe...in braces!!! It was hilarious. Everyone else looked so pulled together and professional and I looked...um...like I was 12. Not that I'm beating myself up about it but...showing up in wires is...so.my.life.

I would like to make an announcement...

Today is the last day I will have a peanut, cashew, almond, etc....until my mouth can handle it. I know...not smart but...I am addicted. My jaw is not happy with me -- at all.

Just felt like if I wrote it, I might stick to it...

Wires Cheered This Weekend!

Wired Lady cheered on MARATHON CHAMP Emily Russell this weekend in San Diego. For someone who only walked a mile or two...I'm pooped.

Emily ran 26.2 miles. How freakin' insane is that? Jaw surgery is lookin' more pain-free every day.
